We need an enthusiastic, energetic and hard-working person to join our excellent administrative team, which is central to the efficient management of the clinical work. The duties will be varied and some experience of working in a challenging environment with a focus on client confidentiality will be useful. We are looking for someone who is reliable, independent and with an eye for detail.
Skills and Qualities

Very organised and meticulous with detail
Someone who is pragmatic and flexible. Willing to undertake mundane tasks as well as the more complex responsibilities.
Someone able to help us organise and develop systems as the service develops
Someone who will take responsibility for various aspects of the infrastructure which is in place to support the clinical work. This could include responding to initial referrals from local authorities, developing quotes and therapy plans, reading confidential reports and dealing with commissioners, social workers and vulnerable families in a sensitive and pressurised environment.
Someone who is adept at working as part of a team and working independently.
Able to respond quickly and effectively to demands as they arise.

Occupational Therapist working with Children and Families
The Family Place is a registered adoption support agency based in Hay-on-Wye on the England/Wales border. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with a specialist interest in families, trauma and attachment to join our team. We are interested in hearing from you if you want to work with children and families impacted by developmental trauma.
We provide a specialist comprehensive assessment and intervention service to foster and adoptive families using an integrated team approach, centrally involving carers throughout. Interventions are based on a combination of Theraplay, DDP and Sensory Integration. The work is undertaken in multidisciplinary teams and we have an excellent service culture. The work is challenging so regular supervision, CPD and training are provided.
The specialist role of the Occupational Therapist will be in providing Sensory Integration assessments and appropriate therapeutic interventions for children in accordance with individual assessed need. This role will involve some travel.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent degree level qualification
Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Experience of working in a paediatric setting with children with complex needs, including social and emotional difficulties
Experience of sensory integration work
Experience of writing clinical reports
Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with children and young people of all ages and abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills – including observation, listening and empathy skills
