Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Julia is a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist (BSc hons). She has over 10 years experience of working with families and children aged between 0-18 years old. The children she works with have a range of diagnosis including; sensory integration and attachment difficulties, developmental delays, neurodisabilities, ASD and high risk/premature infants. Julia is an Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner (Post Graduate Certificate) with additional specialist training in Sensory Attachment Intervention. She uses this knowledge to support children with developmental trauma and their families in developing their relationships. This also allows for more beneficial engagement with social relationships, within learning environments and functional tasks/activities of everyday living. Julia has been published several times in the Children, Young People and Families Journal and has produced many clinical posters which have been presented at various conferences within the UK. These include a case study which documented the positive therapeutic use of Sensory Attachment Intervention in supporting a complex mother and son relationship. Julia is able to offer many standardised assessments, and regularly uses them to enhance her clinical practice. She is HPCP registered and RCOT registered. Julia has the ability to promote a safe and supportive environment for learning and development. Dedicated to providing an excellent service offering timely and practical therapy and advice. Her key aims are Education (of children and families), Support and Empowerment. She is passionate about working with children so they can reach their fullest functional potential.
