Dr Sarah Wassall
Sarah is a Clinical Psychologist who works with The Family Place on a sessional basis. She is an accredited DDP therapist with 17 years experience of working to improve the mental health and emotional well-being of young people. For the last 10 years she has specialised in child and adolescent mental health services, predominantly for those who are adopted or in care. Her approach focuses on the therapeutic importance of compassion to self and others, integration and regulation of mind and body, and developing resilience through relational work. She believes that parenting is a momentous task, and that supporting parents can be key to children's emotional wellbeing. As such she is an experienced therapeutic parenting group facilitator. Sarah is also a theatre practitioner who can incorporate creativity into therapeutic work, and supports theatre and film production companies to develop projects that support psychological health.
